was the black interior rare?
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:53:29 pm »
I have  the maroon interior in my 85 and I want black for my color combo. I have scoured 5 salvage yards and have had no luck.  is dyeing the interior panels my only option?

Not as rare as your 69 camaro with an LS1. Got any pics of it?

Nice rides! Drop in those motors yourself? Good work either way!!!

I too am in the process of changing my interior as well. I have the maroon interior and I hate it! My panels and trim will be going black. Trying to decide on either red carpet or black, same with the headliner.

The exterior of my truck is two tone, red on top and bottom like yours but with black through the middle.

Everything I read so far on several car forums is to use SEM interior colorcoat product with an adhesion promoter.

Cheers!

My 84 silverado has a mint black interior, even with 166,000 on it.I don't know if it was special order or not,but I would think so since the only option it came with was delay wipers.

My '85 GMC 3500 has the charcoal (black) interior, "I" think it is pretty rare and I love it! I will be replacing most of my interior in a couple years but that doesn't help get you any parts now. I assume you could buy everything new on this site couldn't you?

My neighbor has a very nice Bronco like that. All fixed up and real pretty. Kinda counter productive to take it out to the trails, but eh it's his money lol.
