Question about 86 Silverado
« on: May 19, 2010, 01:02:21 pm »
I might be trading my streetbike with a guy for his 86 Chevy Silverado 4x4.  The truck has 33" tires, 350 engine, bulldog 4spd transmission. I'm not sure of the gear ratio, but I don't think he has changed it and the truck is not lifted. The motor is carb'ed. I'm just curious what kind of fuel mileage I might expect to get out of this truck.

about 1/3 of what your bike is getting. Probably even less.

I'm not worried about getting absolute amazing fuel mileage like a streetbike will. I'm just curious what it might get. I don't drive like a bat out of heck either.

I would guess between 10-13 with a 4x4. With my 86 350 I think it had about a 3.73 with a th350 got about 12 but I drove it like a bat out of heck. Same motor in my 79 4x4 3 speed with 4.10 I get 8mpgs but that's with 38s
