GVWR Question

I have a 74 k20 that is rated 8400 GVWR and I am looking at a 1977 GMC sierra Classic 25 camper special 2wd and it says the camper special is rated at 8200 GVWR.  I am just a little curious why the GMC camper special can't handle as much as my regualr k20.  I am also not familiar with the GMC ratings, 25 does mean its a 3/4 ton right.  I will put the link in if anyone wants to look at the truck. Was thinking about buying it cause it looks decent and would be nice to have an extra truck even though its 2wd.

i would assume that due to holding a camper maybe they were being on the safe side since it might be packed with more stuff than just a 4x4??? but whats a 750cfm carb doing on that 350

Yea thought that was a little big for a 350 too? Looks like a nice truck for the price.

and the 25 was gmcs 3/4 thats all chevy would be 20

That's what I thought but someone has told me once that 25was for the heavy half, but didn't really make sense, thanks.

I would love to go look at it, but the guy didn't put his number down, I emailed him so hopefully he will email back or something.  Yea looks like a nice truck, I will buy it if it is.  I would like to sell my 4x4 chevy, I love the thing, but it needs something every week and I have never once needed the 4x4 and have always been able to get out of a spot up in the woods in 2wd.
