stopping frame rust
« on: November 11, 2010, 08:06:34 pm »
I just fixed some rust jacking between one of my bump stop brackets and the frame. All the rust chipped right off after removing the bracket and now i'm left with some dimples in the metal but nothing serious. I wire brushed it as clean as it goes but i either want to get it to bare shiney metal or treat it with something. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to clean it or treat it with? The rest of the frame is immaculate other than that so i want to clean it as good as possible. Thanks

I used POR15 on some surface rust in my cab and I got great resaults from it. Heres their website so u can check them out. Ive read reviews where people say it didnt stick when they used it. Im pretty sure they must have done something wrong in the prep stages because it stuck like super glue for me.
