80 Chevy Stepside
« on: December 06, 2010, 05:34:32 pm »
My dad bought this truck new in 1980.  It came with a 250 6cyl, 3 speed manual.  It was my first truck and I drove it through High School.  We put a 305 in it in 1991 and I put tons of miles on it!
A couple of years ago, I put a 283 in her.  She still has the 3 on the tree!
I've been removing the old paint, gonna paint her myself in a couple weeks.  I'm going to have an all black interior and rebuild the wood bed.  Here are a few shots as she stand.  I'll post more as I move along.

Cool! Welcome from Illinois

All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

Welcome from ND. That's a nice ride. Repainting it the original color?

I changed it out in the early 90's.  I think it was from an 88-90 chevy truck

Welcome! Nice truck. You don't see a whole lot of step sides anymore. Really nice.

what size tires should I put on this truck guys?  The wheels are 15x8 and currently it has 235/70/R15's on it.  It was lowered when it was my daily driver back in the early 90's(took out leafs in the rear and heated the front coils which I wouldn't suggest).  If I lower it again, I'll do it right and not more than 3".  I think I want her to have the factory stance.
Back to the point, what size tires?
