About the relays...

Before I did the relay upgrade, but on the new bulbs, I checked the Voltage AT the headlight while the truck was running.  While the rest of the truck was getting 14.2V,  AT the headlight I was only getting 12.9V.  And my stock wiring and connections were in really good shape.

Now after the Relay upgrade I get the full 14.2V at the lights.  My new upgraded alternator charging wire goes directly to the battery +  so that's where I put the main 12v+ feed to the relays.  So in essence, it might as well be right on the alternator, but it has a shorter wire.

I just used 16ga. wire for everything except the Main 12v+ feed to the relays themselves.  I used 12ga there.  Used one 12ga wire and split it right before the relays, and used one 30A fuse in the line before it split.

My wire loom showed up so I got the wiring all tidied up and coverd.  looks much better!  I bought a wire loom kit with 25ft. of 6 sizes so I did the whole engine bay, replaced everything that was gone, red, or cracked.

A little convoluted tubing goes a long way.  Good job.

Thanks Fellas.  Yeah I been putting that off for 3 years because the loom is so danged expensive if you get it at the parts store.

If anybodys interested, here's the loom I bought.  It's as good a quality stuff as anything else I've ever seen.  I'm gonna buy more of the smaller sizes on friday from the same guy.  It's awesome stuff!  a note though, if you do buy it and the box shows up and you're missing a couple of sizes...  they're inside of the bigger sizes to save shipping space, yeah i almost sent a nasty email to them... ;)

It's $33.70  for 25ft. each of sizes 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1".   The same guy also sells 100ft single rolls for approx $22 a roll.  Beats the pants off advance auto parts prices.

I also bought these wire ties to go with it....  they're HIGH quality stuff too.  I'm buying more of them friday too.
