my idle is starting to surge like like I have a vacuum leak, but I have minimal vacuum lines, just vax advance and pcv. The others are capped or looped. Could my base gasket randomly start leaking for no reason? And ny shift handle vibrates quite a bit while cruising, and today I went to bump it out of reverse and shift.it into first, and the.shifter popped and moved freely in my hand like it was broken. I about crapped. I pulled the boot off and the ahifter came out of the tower, so I made sure it was out of gear and not stuck in reverse, put the shifter back in and pushed the little cup down and turned it to lock it back in. I can only assume that means the spring on the bottom of the shifter is getting soft which cause the vibrations and also made it possibke to pop the ahifter out. Is there a way to fix this?
