Stock Radio

Hello friends,
I am presently restoring a 85 chevy pickup. the truck is all orginal right down to the factory radio. this is where my problem is the truck has a really nice radio the problem is i am installing a painless wiring harness and the radio was factory embeded into the wiring which means all of the wires run into the radio and are welded. how can i go about saving this radio or am i just out of luck. thanks for the help in advanced.

re wire the radio just cut he factory wires off leaving some on the radio to  atache the new wires
