What you need are a set of 3" drop spindles, and then cut no more that 1 coil off for a good ride.  1 coil = 2"

Don't get me wrong, you can cut all you want too, but you won't have a very good ride ;D

3" drop spindles sounds good but im working on a low budget too. if i cut 2 coils off will the ride be that radical? this truck is actually a 76 shorty. thanks for the info lowbudg.

Well, I wouldn't recommend it, but maybe somebody else will chime in and say different.

You might want to look into bigger wheels if you're going to go with a 3" spindle. 2.5" spindle and a 2.5 spring would be perfect mix of drop and ride quality. The other thing you'll need to factor into your budget is shocks as your stocks won't work with the lowered stance.

I'd get parts at a time until you have everything to do it properly.

You can cut more than one coil off your springs, but the ride will suffer. Do it right the first time, or wait till you can afford spindles. My personal choice is 3" spindles and a cut coil. You DO NOT have to run larger wheels with 3" spindles but you "might" have to trim your lower A-arm. That will depend on  what width and backspace of the wheel you have.
