Oil Pan Gasket Issues

So I have took my Chevy K20 to the local speed shop to have some work done and one of the things I need done was a oil  pan gasket. I was told by the shop that they were not sure if they could change the gasket because I have an after market pan on. I provide them with a new one piece gasket for my 454, which has a moroso pan on it. So i looked online to see if there are different types of pans for a chevy 454 and no there all pretty much the exact same, now maybe that is because the mounting surface is the same on the block, but i dont know thats why I am putting it out there. So correct me if I am wrong.

a gasket is a gasket. sounds like they dont want to do the work, go somewhere else.

a lot of shops don't want to touch aftermarket things for fear of messing them up...warping, whatever.  And, they cost more.  Perhaps this is what he meant.

Being a k20 this shouldn't be an issue, but is it possible the engine will have to be lifted in order to replace the pan gasket?  I know the 2wd independent front-end trucks have a giant cross-member in the front that would make getting the pan off impossible without lifting the engine at the very least.

I have an 84 K20 3/4-ton 4x4 and I am going to be replacing the pan gasket tomorrow, but I have already done this before, so i know i have the room (only replacing because the bell housing inspection plate was bent and cut a nice slit in the rear of the gasket   ).
