brake lines (how are they sold)
« on: September 13, 2011, 11:02:34 am »
how are the metal brake likes on our trucks sold (front and rear)
there are a lot or bends and twists involved and i was wondering if these are sold as generic straight lengths that we need to bend ourselves or if they come pre configured specifically for our trucks.

thanks

I have always bought straight brake line and bent it to what I needed. You can buy different lengths with fittings already on it or you can buy rolls and flare it yourself.

Give me a long enough lever and a place to stand, and I shall move the earth or break this bolt...Whatever, just hold my beer!

They sell complete pre-bent kits for our trucks if everything is stock.  Or you can buy a roll of tubing and a bunch of hardware and do it yourself.  The biggest difference thing is time and money.  If there is a lot of free time with very littl money, doing it yourself is the way to go, but If you have a little less time and a little more money a pre-bent kit will some some hassle, but costs more.

You can buy prebent lines from Inline Tube or Classic Tube.  I ordered a set of stainless ones for my K20 from Inline Tube.  They needed a bit of tweeking to get them to fit properly but they certainly look better than anything I could have bent myself.
