Driveshaft for my 87 r10 swb 2wd
« on: September 09, 2011, 04:20:07 pm »
Hello my fellow square body lovers!!!  I have just recently purchased a 87 SWB 2wd truck.  It has a 350 transmission in it an I am wanting to replace it with the correct 700R4.  When I bought it it didn't have a driveshaft in it...so i'm reaching out for some knowledge to find out what driveshafts would be compatible with it with little or no cutting or re balancing!!  Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!  Thanks

if you are currently planing staying with the 350 tranny I would call up a drive shaft maker like tom woods or je reel and have them make one if you switch out the tranny then find a stock drive shaft for your vehicle

You said you want to replace it with the correct 700r4 transmission, if so then get the drive line off a truck that has a 700r4 trans on it.
Also, this topic should have been in engine/drivetrain categorie, maybe ask the moderators to move it for you.
