Inside rear view mirror button evening

Hello gentlemen,

I was hoping someone could tell me how far down the windshield the button for the Inside mirror goes.  I replaced my glass a couple years ago and the new one came without one! I would prefer the measurement off of a mid 70's truck but beggars can't be choosers!

My button was located about 6" down from the top.
You can really put it anywhere you want. Higher if you're taller and lower if you're shorter.
My truck is a 1976.
