Can't switch tanks
« on: December 23, 2011, 08:32:26 am »
85 K10 with sidesaddle tanks.  I have not been able to switch to my passenger side tank since I bought the truck this past summer, so of course I wait until the dead of winter to fix it.  So first we tried a new sending unit, no luck. Next a new switch and same thing. Basically I am at the point now where there must be a bad connection somewhere.  I got the shop manual with wiring diagrams, but I am going to take a break for Christmas before I get back in it.  Basically I am just fishing for advice if anyone has got it.  If I have to I can wait until warmer months to really get at it, I have just put a lot of time into it so far that I don't want to give up.

Cracked open the shop manual and thankfully there is a nice step by step guide for checking the auxiliary fuel tank circuit. Looks pretty straightforward.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
