source for Upper radiator mounts
« on: January 10, 2012, 01:37:56 pm »
I have an 83 K10 that started life as a diesel. The original diesel radiator sprung a leak, so I replaced with a gas radiator, the issue that I am running into is that the upper mounts are different, and I am having a heck of a time trying to find them. the only one that I have found online is the big rectangle one (which does not work on my truck. I even went through the local junk yard, but every truck has had the radiator pulled and the mounts are gone. Does anybody know of a place to find these? otherwise I am going to see if I can modify the diesel ones to work on the gas radiator.

According to my book, the GM part number should be 14018600, however it appears that the part has been discontinued.  However, there are NOS dealers that have the upper radiator mount.

The same mount (panel) should work for gas engine trucks from '81 to at least '88.  Hope this helps a bit.  There may be someone on here that can help you further.

If your truck is an 81-87, the radiator mounting on a diesel vs gas that was HD.

from what I am seeing 14018600 is the one piece rectangle mount. I need the 2 separate mounts. The ones I need are about 5 inched long, and the ones that the diesel had were about 6 inches.

I am thinking I might just drill new holes and see if I can get the 6" ones to work
