air suspension question

i am building a 83 Chevy stepside, and i want to put air suspension on it, i cant afford the ride tech kits, or anything like that, so I'm gonna peice a "kit" together, with the brackets and cups and set of bags for the front, and an air over leaf set up on the rear, I'm not wanting to lay frame that's why i chose the air over leaf set up, i was wondering has any one done this? and if so could you show pics of how you did it, and maybe where the parts came from, things like that, just trying to make sure i understand how it ll work, etc..... thanks for any info, tips, and pics you may have to give.

If you don't plan on setting it on the ground, just static lower it, otherwise any kit will get you what you want for the front.
N2TRUX had this basic setup on his truck prior to the full Ridetech setup, which WON'T allow you to lay frame.
He used their front kit and their air over leaf kit.  Most of the cost is in the valve setup.

Keep in mind you will STILL need spindles to get it down in the front....

Not really for the same purpose, but is airbags/leaf springs. I bought a basic AirLift kit & modified/made the brackets to move the bags on top of the axle & in closer to the frame. All in all, they work well. I can get about 4" of travel. Hope this helps in some way, Lorne
