Hello from the Netherlands
« on: April 13, 2012, 02:41:40 pm »
Hi Guys!

I'm Jack from the Netherlands and have been lurking here for the past few years. I've got a '84 K10 shortbed which I'm restoring quite thouroughly.

I've to figure out how to post any pics.

I started a topic on the dutch usatrucks.nl forum, which isn't really usefull for you guys, since it is written in Dutch. Maybe you like to check out some pictures ;)

I'm trying to order a batch of rebuilt parts soon at Summit Racing, but I ran into one major question. I would like to order new stainless steel exhaust dampers, but there are so many options. What is your advice?

Cheers,

Jack

Howdy from Oklahoma.

Your '84 looks to be in good shape.

Hi Jason S,

Yes, mufflers. Wrong translation  ;) Or silencers. I've got a 400 CID with (ordered) ceramic coated headers.

Shape wasn't to bad, but when you start to take the truck apart you'll find some trouble...

Currently it sits like this

When I find some time I'll start a proper project page here as well.

Cheers,

Jack

Welcome from Alaska, Jack.  I like the color combination on the truck.  Do you intend to keep it that color?

Rusty,

I've to disappoint you  ;). It will be painted in a different color, but I haven't made up my mind yet. At the moment I'm rebuilding the engine, so I've got plenty of time to select a nice color.
