blazer tank instal.....what to do for fuel filler
« on: May 14, 2012, 01:39:44 pm »
I have a 79 c10 with a blazer tank from a 87.  I have the tank mounted already but noticed the fuel filler neck sits pretty high and 90s to the right.  Is there anyway to space the tank down some to clear the bed floor.  What are you guys doing for a fuel fill?

That is the write-up i used and it looks like he went across the frame rail to some kind of fill point.  i was trying to find out how to rig up a surface mounted boat fill.

That turn angle is gonna be a headache. Depending on where you want to mount the boat filler. If you want to mount on the bed floor, you'll be better off getting a summit fuel cell and going it that way. You can go down through the stake pocket or behind the tail light housing, but the best way to do so is to have a custom filler tube bent, 90° with a 1.75" bend radius. That way out won't click off on you when you're trying to fill up.

There is space to make it turn up, you just need a REALLY tight bend.  I was going to do that on mine originally.
