cheap functional gauge cluster
« on: August 18, 2012, 04:21:21 pm »
i made this gauge cluster the other day from the original one my truck already had... i was looking online for a similar one before i thought about making it myself, found them at classic dash but their almost 1000 dollars, and i really doing have the cash for something like that right now so this is what i did... later on if the sunpro gauges stop reading correctly i can just replace them with autometer gauges or something... all i need now is a sunpro speedometer and a fuel gauge to match the rest of the gauges... what do you guys think...
i never really had a problem with sunpro they get the job done just fine for me....
oh an i painted it black....

That looks good.  Do you have pictures of the back?  I am curious how you are attaching them to the panel.

here are some back images... for the turn signals i cement glued a small piece of PVC pipe about 1in long and i stuck a thin green plastic film so it would appear to glow green when ever the light is on... and i stuck a bit of paper so the light bulb wouldn't move and finished it off with electrical tape....
