heater box bolts
« on: June 26, 2012, 02:09:54 pm »
What are the bolts called that hold the heater box in place?  They've got a clip on the interior side that attaches to the under dash heater box, then they pass through the firewall.  I think there are 4.

I bent a couple of mine changing the heater core a few months ago.  Thought I'd go ahead and replace them all, but can't find them anywhere.

Not any time soon.  I was able to use them to reassemble everything, so they're all back in place and a PITA to remove.  Don't want to tear it apart til I'm ready to replace those.  I'll dig online to see if I can find a picture.

I don't know of a source for finding those.  Did you bend the actual bolt?

I did.  I couldn't see the bolt from where I was at, wrenching away.  Did know til too late that the nut has stuck and I was twisting the bolt instead of threading the nut.  Might have to be a junk yard item.
