Front end conversion?
« on: September 18, 2012, 08:01:01 pm »
I've decided that I like the 73-80 front end better than the 81-87 front end. Looks more... old. I want the truck to have that "old" look. And the 81-87 front end just screams 80's when you look at it. So anyone know what all it takes to swap over from the 87 front end (which I currently have) to the 73 front end? I guess you'll need fenders, a hood, a bumper, headlights, a grill...... what else?

I think it would take an extreme amount of work to put a 72 front clip on.
Did you mean 73-80?

Sorry yeah that is what I meant. The 73 front clip is what I want. Fixed the error.

Everything from the doors forward, including the wiper arm stubs.
If you do a search for this on the site you will find several discusions about it.

Uh oh, looks like you need a new core support. That might be too much work since I'm lazy.

I might be satisfied for now, with just a new 81-82 grill. Since my new 87 grill just recently got a large rock (or something...) tossed right through it. But for some reason hardly anyone sells one with the chevy logo in it. Must be due to copyrights or something.
