June Truck of the Month - firefighter's Fleetside 4x4
« on: January 01, 2013, 03:44:57 pm »
Since we don't have enough trucks for a calendar yet, I am making the call on this and declaring firefighter the June Truck of the month.  Congrats!  Please reply to any pertinent information you would like to share.

Even though I know we're desperate for trucks to fill the calendar, I feel honored to ba a part of this.
Ironically, June is my birthday month. Happy 51st Birthday to me in June !!

OK, here are a few details of my truck:

1976 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4.
468 Big Block Chevy motor, Turbo 350 trans and NP 203 TC.
Manual Lockouts
4" lift and 35" tires.
I rebuilt the truck when I first bought it used back in 1997, and rebuilt it again last winter after it had gotten rusted again. I put about 38,000 miles on it since the first rebuild.
Last years rebuild included replacing all brake and fuel lines, complete tune up, rust free sheet metal, lots of undercoating and painting in my shop. Color is original 1971 Chevy named Medium Olive Poly. All work done in my shop except installing the windshield.
Non-AC interior is stock except for the aftermarket sound system.
It's a daily driver and I also use it for cutting and hauling wood and hunting.

Thanks again for letting me be a part of this and Happy New Year !!

Firefighter....your truck is very nice.   I hope my 79 will look like that very soon...  Most of 2013 will spent on the restore.

You didn't get it because we are desperate, you got it because no one stepped up to send the models we wanted.  Don't sell yourself short, you restored this whole thing here, and did a great job!  Worthy of being on here.  Congrats!
