how to identify the trim model of my truck?
« on: August 18, 2013, 02:25:50 am »
Hi I am going to fully restore my 84 c10 back to its original stage. Is there any way that I can find out what the factory trim was for my truck? Any help is really appreciated.
Its going to take some time to get it done but it'll all be worth it at the end.

84 is easy.  Did it come with a cloth headliner?  If it did it is a Silverado.  If not it could be a Scottsdale or Custom Deluxe.  If the door panels have a black removable insert and the brushed aluminum dash cluster cluster it is a Scottsdale.  If the door panels are all the same color and the dash bezel is all black it is a Custom Deluxe.

Thanks a lot. I should've mentioned that the truck was completly stripped out but that was my fault.  Sorry about that.Is there any way to tell by the vin #?

Nothing by the VIN.  If it is stripped and there is no evidence of holes where the roof is on the edges or window posts than it is not a Silverado.  Is there a sticker in the glovebox my chance?  http://www.73-87.com/7387info/7387trimlev.htm  further explains the differences.  As you can see from the lack of a trim level "no code" this truck is a base model Custom Deluxe
