Shifter lever not springing back
«
on:

My shifter lever doesn't spring back and can easily drop into gear from park.
I have found a spring on classicparts that goes in by the lever. Has anyone replaced this spring that can give me some instructions on how to do it?
TIA
Jason

spring back from pulling it forward to get it into gear? Tilt steering I am assuming.

Exactly....it doesn't spring back when you release it. Tilt w/cruise 1986 column.

you will have to take the steering wheel down pretty far to replace the spring.
