Any ideas that would make it a nice head turner? Besides paint and wheels.

Do you plan on paint and new wheels already? A nice straight body on a 73-87 is the best way to make it a head turner. I also prefer stock rally wheels or aftermarket wheels that look like they came from the same era as the truck.

Then I would give it a little altitude. The newer trucks sit pretty high stock and with a lift yours would sit higher and look bigger and badder.

If that doesn't work for you then just put a pretty girl in the passenger's seat! ;D

For paint I'm thinking either black or royal blue.   Im putting a 4 inch suspension lift and probably 35's.  new fenders and grill.

^^^This.

Those wheels are gaudy. I'd get the body straight, paint it, and be the envy of most. ;D

Lift it 4" with 35's
Put a set of GM Rally's with trim rigs & centers
Straighten the body and put a nice 2 tone paint job
Chrome body side moulding
Install a nice sounding exhaust either Flowmaster or Magnaflow

All this should make it a real head turner
