the power window control on the passanger side will put the window down but not up. is it a bad control or an i looking at a bigger electrical problem. also the window goes up/ down very slowly. i an assuming that the motor is going and needs to be replaced.
You began by stating the window rolls "down but not up" - then added that "the window goes up/down very slowly...." So, does the window roll UP and DOWN, but moves glacially slow and then stalls out?
Read this thread before continuing below
(Power Window Motor Quality).
If the glass moves only in one direction......first "guess" is that one of the power window switches is faulty or there's poor continuity through one or more of the harness plugs. Refer to the wiring diagram pictured below. Without unplugging the window motor, connect a test light between the Brown and Dark Blue wires plugged into the motor.
Keep your fingers out of the door and away from the window mechanism while raising or lowering the window! The test light should illuminate in both UP and DOWN switch positions from both the Left and Right door controls with the ignition ON.
If it doesn't, unplug the
Right window switch and jumper Dark Blue-to-Dark Blue/White and Brown-to-Tan. Recheck operation of the window motor, using the
Left door switch.
- If the window now moves UP and DOWN, replace the Right door switch.
- If the window still doesn't work correctly, start checking for voltage drops. If there aren't any voltage losses across the harness, replace the Left window switch.
This procedure isn't infallible, but it will get you headed in the right direction.
