Yes, I've been using one few quite a few years. The physical size, shape, ect. is the same. Assuming you have a "later" (30 spline) 700...the torque converter can swap. The driveshaft is a direct fit also.
Here is my TPS sensor mounted up to the Q-jet

For the speed sensor there are a few options. I took what was the most extreme, but felt it was a good way to go. I put a gear on the output shaft & bored a hole in the side of the trans. case & welded in a thread bung from a broken Bravada transfer case. This way, I have the original cable speedometer set-up on the tailshaft & no big money adapter pieces.

I'm using a Baumann controller & it works fine. It is quite dated as far as technology goes, but I've heard they made some updates to the programming since I got mine. I would research thoroughly the different controllers & the features before making a purchase...there seems to be quite a bit of different requirements or features among them.
All in all, it was a great move. Tough to beat being able to tailor the shiftpoints, lockup of the converter, ect. a click at a time & NO transmission fluid in the the hair while doing it! Any questions, Just ask! Lorne
