First off, I finally got back into a couple of square bodies and I am stoked! Right now I have an '84 K20 and a '76 C10 LWB, both are 350 trucks. I bought the K20 becuase the wheels and tires and motor are worth what I gave for it, so I figured I couldn't loose. I got to thinking how I've always wanted to do a frame off and thought what the heck I've only got a couple hundred bucks in this. The K20 was an old farm truck that never got rinsed off or washed, so it needs a body replacement. I traded a 3/4 socket set for an '86 2wd 3/4 ton crew cab frame with a good bed, a full float 14 bolt with a set of white spokes and 35" tires on it. I also picked up a nice cab with all good glass and interior with front clip this past weekend. So I have everything to replace the body on the K20, but I got to looking and the crew cab frame is a lot beefier than the one on the K20. Has anyone every cut down a crew cab frame to fit a regular cab? Also the heigth difference between the two is a little over an inch and a 1/2" in width. I know I would have to cut out almost 3' of frame and make body mounts work, just trying to figure out if it would be worth it.
