I checked that as well but couldn't find anything there either. When I had to change the clutch fork the bell house had to come off. I had previously when I put this engine in late last summer put all new conduit around the outside of all the wiring from the firewall all the way over to the starter. If I had pinched it I'd never have gotten the bell house up to the block. Also it has that little bracket that holds it all to the back of the bell house and I'd already seated the other bolts down by that point so I know that whole deal was good to go. As a precaution though I checked all of it yesterday just to make sure since I'm running out of ideas. The only other thing that comes to mind is the Teflon tape I put around the oil pressure sending unit.
This whole thing is weird since it feels like I'm chasing an electrical gremlin. First the choke light is on all the time. Then the truck won't shut off. Now the choke light works in reverse, switch works, but no gauges, and if I put a new fuse in for the guages the fuse blows quick as you turn on the key. I'm baffled. I've checked the grounds too. Couldn't find anything there either. Electrical has never been my strong point. I wouldn't think the Teflon tape would do that, but maybe it's not making a good ground for the guages now? I don't know but I'd sure like to get this figured out and fixed. ......Joe
