bagged rear end for a pro street
« on: July 03, 2006, 07:59:00 pm »
I was going to do a coilover and ladder bar rear, but now I am leaning towards bags. I want them for the easy adjustability from the cab. Plus I can get more than 8" of drop in the rear. I looked at the kp bolt on rear kit but I can't fit the wide tires that I want. Anyone bagged a pro street and have pics of the set up? Oh and it's a 85 swb

I would go 4 link for that.....Ladder bars aren't really street friendly.

yeah i'm not doing the coilover/ladder bar. I am wanting to know the best location to place the bag and the best link, for traction.

Put a 4 link on it and put the airbags in the same location as you would a coilspring.

What are your plans for truck? Street strip or street only?

As of right now it is just a street truck. It has around 425hp right now but want to get over 600 eventualy. I am wanting a street/strip truck, it will see more street than strip. All that I have left to do is suspension and the rear end, on the race part of it.

I wouldn't recommend any ole 4 link then. I'd go with a Chris Alson's 4 link with that much HP. Check them out or call them for prices on kits.www.cachassisworks.com/

You just mount them like you would the shocks.....easy to do. They even have bagged shocks kinda like a coil over as shown above, but an airbag. Air bag in shock form. Fabbing brackets for regular bags is easy as well.

i checked out the 72 and it has the bags over the axle and ladder bars. I'm wanting a four link since it is driven on the streets more.

Yes, 4 link will articulate more for bumps and uneven surfaces.
