will the yoke from my 4 speed saginaw work with a th350
« on: June 11, 2014, 06:32:02 pm »
I am doing a tranny swap from an old dead Saginaw 4 speed to a TH350 auto. I am trying to find out if I need a different yoke and if I will have to have the driveline shortened or lengthened.

there should be two different output shafts a 27 and 32. if the input is 26 splines it should have the 32, and if its 10 splines it should have the 27. but idk if they are the same 27 splines as on a th350 or not

I think he meant 27 when he wrote 26 splines, just to clear that up.

All I know is that I went from a short tail shaft TH350 in a 72 Nova and converted it to a 4 speed Saginaw and used the same yolk and driveshaft.  It was a tight fit with the linkage and speedo cable but it all worked out.  I routinely went back and forth in my circle track Chevelle from stick to automatic to a powerglide, all took the same yoke and driveshaft

"1966-1972 corvetts. the 1966-1970 models have a 10 spline input and a 27 spline output. the 1971-1972 models have a 26 spline input and a 32 spline output"
