No power to the front end
« on: June 29, 2014, 12:57:20 am »
I don't like to ask questions until I search and try to find answers, so  after an hour of searching I have to ask. I have a 1990 suburban 2500 350 4 speed 208 case. So my issue is I have to power to the front tires, the auto hubs have been replaced at some point with manuals. The T case engages and goes into low but no 4wd Ive read something about and actuator or maybe a fuse? I almost bought a pair of new Warn hubs, but if its electrical I'll still be without 4x4...........thanks in advance guys.

the actuator and fuse are for the independent fronts. you still have a solid front. so when i would break something in the mud i would be stuck so you could get out and inspect it while the drive train was moving.

but see if you drive shaft moves, after that see if you axle shafts move by looking at the u joints behind the front wheels. if they all move its the hub on the axle shaft thats moving if you drive shaft spins but not the axle shafts its in the ring and pinion area. you should be ok with it on jack stands just have someone help you and able to step on the brakes if something fails. you dont need to get under it

Thank you I was the hubs the new Im picking up the new Warn's Monday.

I assume this means "it was the hubs" and you are picking up new warn hubs.
