Stepside fender goo (adhesive)
« on: July 06, 2014, 11:43:43 pm »
Guys and Gals,
What is everyone, or anyone, using for fender adhesive between the stepside fender and the box sides?

In my quest for fenders I found some this weekend at PAP and took advantage of their 1/2 off sale.  I found 2 fenders, correct for '77, with side markers.  The only drawback is that each fender has a fuel cap provsion and my truck has only a passenger side tank.  I also have 1 newer fender, no side marker light.  That one has a gas cap door, which I like.

The fenders on the truck may be repairable, but a switch makes sense.  The little hex head, fender fasteners are a terrible thing, but we got them off, in the junkyard.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

IIRC, it had a felt strip between the fender and side wall.  It might have had a sticky side to it to keep it in place.

No glue there as far as I have ever found. Just a weather strip/ gasket type deal.
