Rear main leak
« on: July 14, 2014, 05:43:45 pm »
I have an 85 Chevy k10 with a 350 with a 4 bolt main. When I was changing my rear main seal I scratched the crank. I heard they have these crank repair sleeves but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. So if someone can help me find some that would be great

How bad is the "scratch" in the crank ?  Are you going to try to repair this with the engine in the truck and the crank in the engine ?
The scratch must be pretty severe to not be able to polish it up some and remove the sharp edge and get it to seal.  Either way, I think doing it in the engine if at all possible it going to be a pain.
