82 GMC questions

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes. I have 2 questions I have a 82 K20 GMC. I was wondering if it is possible to put the hood latch off of a 76 chevy on my truck ( one that doesn't require a cable or inside handle to pop the hood). 2nd question has anyone ever put a under hood reel light like off of a 96 Chevy pickup under or trucks and where did you mount it? Thanks guys!

      I am not a expert on 81 plus trucks, but I do believe that the shape of the bottom of the hood and top of the radiator supports are different.  But that is not to say that it can not be done, anything can be done.
      Why do you not want to have the release inside your cab like it came stock ?

My hood release cable is starting to break in the middle and have heard how hard it is to open the hood when it breaks. I will change the cable but I kinda like the older style hood latches.

Not that we really have anything worthwhile under the hood.. but the lack of security because of the old style latch does make me wish there was a new style on it.
