King Neptune...My 1979K10LWB

This is King Neptune. My daughter named it. I don't know where she came up with the name. But I have to keep it since she is my Princess.
Anyway, It's a 79 K10 LWB. 350. th350 NP203. No rust. Other than surface rust on the rear bumper. 9K verified miles on the engine. Only a few upgrades I want to do to this. Tires. I love the rally wheels. So I'm keeping those. Possibly a 2 inch lift. New paint. And it has hubs. But need to make sure it has the conversion kit for the t-case. Other than that, I think I'll keep it pretty much as it is.

     That is a nice looking truck.  If you do a 2" lift, are you going to go with bigger tires ?

Thanks Minus. I read your build thread before I joined the site. You're doing some nice work. Hopefully I'll be able to do the same. I'm not really building this much though. I have another build thread on here. It's my 1974 GMC Jimmy. That's the one I'll mostly be building. Check it out. And let me know how the conversion goes.

Thanks. I'm not sold on it yet. I'd like it to be the darker blue that it has on the interior. But really I'd like it to be black. I just love black vehicles.

See those darker rings on Neptune? I think I'll eventually paint it that color. haha. But yes. I am stuck with that color for a while. Can't afford to have it painted for a while anyway.

for the surface rust on the bumper you may not get all of it off but pour some Diet Coke on the bumper then take some aluminum foil and "sand" it. it removes rust off chrome pretty well. it will not get it all. but some Diet coke, foil and elbow grease it's clean up a bit better on the bumper.

ive never heard of either of those tricks... ive always just used fine steel wool dry

The phosphoric acid in the coke or diet coke is what reacts with the oxidation, the Aluminium foil is an abrasive that is softer then the chrome so it will not scratch it. I suggested the Diet coke over the regular coke as the diet isn't sticky. I had first read about it but didn't believe it until I tried it out myself.
