reinforced frame question.

Im wondering if this wont affect the steering or anything else.  To my eye. It looks too thick. Or am i wrong? 

(I just dont wanna make a wrong purchase)

That particular reinforcement does look a little thicker than most I have seen. It looks to be about 3/8" thick. In my humble opinion I really don't  think it is going to change any of your steering geometry much at all. You would have to put longer bolts in to hold the box on but that's about it. Somebody did a nice clean job welding and painting it.

WOW!!!  Frame armor!!

The fabricator introduced a new weakness in the frame by concentrating stress at the square cut ends of that monster plate.  I suspect that at some point cracks will reappear through the frame at the ends of the reinforcement across the radii and flanges. 

To help alleviate strain through the "new" stress points, a rigid brace could be installed between the inboard side of the frame and the front crossmember.  Not a perfect solution, but workable.

     Are you trying to buy this frame for a project of yours, or is it a complete project ?  I agree it is overkill, and like bd said, that big and square could cause trouble. 
     If it is a road truck only and not hard core wheeling, it will most likely never be an issue though.
