New square body owner from Texas
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:38:46 am »
Hello all

Names George from Conroe Texas, small town right outside of Houston. I am a helicopter mechanic thanks to the Army I work on apache helicopters. But since I could remember I have been working on cars, my dad is a bodyman so I have learned alot over the years. I am not new to building cars and trucks but I am new to this body style truck.
I recently traded a .308 rifle for a 1985 gmc 1500 short bed. The truck is in decent condition, definately going to need some work but it is not over the top like other previous projects of mine. The body is in excellent shape I have yet to find any rust on the truck though I havent completed a full teardown just yet.  Plans are to squat it down 5-6 inches, drop a set of 20's or 22's. Get the small block 350 running, clean up the interior, spray some baby blue with a championship white stripe down the side of truck and call it a day.
Plan is to make this a budget build so I can flip for a good profit.
As soon as I get the ball rolling I will be sure to start a build post and update as much as possible.

Be careful, you may like it to much in the end to sell it... Welcome from NW Indiana!!!
