Engine Idle problem

So my truck runs perfect on idle when in park, but when its on drive and i am at a stop i have to hold the brake and gas at the same time if not it shuts off. I've been thinking its a transmission problem but im not sure ....any ideas?

Need more info,what carb,cam,engine.What is your vacuum in gear?It could be alot of things..
