Hello All,
Been sneaking around long enough I suppose, I am a new owner of a 78 Chevy C10 Cheyenne "Trailering Special" Fleet side. 350cu. 5.7l, and in need of some serious maintenance. Very Straight with a couple of rust spots, and fortunately only two items that do not work properly being the window washer mechanism (just clicks), and the Air Conditioning (No belt around the compressor, and was told its been like that for the ten years the previous owner had it, being of the Northwest, summers are usually moderate(rainy). Some play in the steering column I've noticed.
In the week I've had it I have replaced the Plugs, Wire set, PCV , Fuel Filter, Oil(was a shade of black I've never seen)/Oil Filter,Cap/Rotor, Carb Tune ( ordered some jets, rods, and springs for an Edelbrock 600), Replaced all but the one functioning light behind the cluster,Lucas Fuel Treatment in both Gas Tanks, and some Seafoam in the crankcase shortly before I changed the oil. difference already is very noticeable.
A few of these things these forums have already been very helpful, appreciate you guys taking the time to write up some of your experiences with these projects ,tweaks, and epiphanies . I am grateful, and I look forward to using the info here to better my new project.
Gary
