Classic Roll bar
« on: December 08, 2014, 03:28:18 pm »
I finally did it guys.  I've always wanted a roll bar and KC lights, and over the thanksgiving holiday I a few days off so I made it happen.   Picked up the roll bar off craigslist a few years ago (in pretty bad shape). It was for a short bed, so I had to cut and fab longer back bars, but It turned out great, even had a local shop shoot it black for me.  I had ordered the KC lights and covers back when I got the roll bar, so I had everything just needed the time!

The truck looks great.
Haven't seen you on here in awhile. Hope all is well.
How are the rest of the trucks in the family doing?
Did you guys ever finish your dad's truck?

Was just able to work a deal for a triple/double roll bar for my monster truck build. Mine is going to need stripped and painted as well.

The white on black KC covers look good too. That is the route I'm going as well.

Roundhouse, the lift on mine is a all spring 6 inch (also added a zero rate additional leaf on the rear set of springs for an extra inch  to keep a solid rake)

The tire size is 36 X 14.50 X 16.5  super swamper TSL radial

This combo DID require a little fender trimming to work (very little) but in my opinion has the best stance / proportion.

Looks great

We currently have no lift and 33"s on stock rallys
No rubbing

Think we want to run 35s and maybe a small lift
Your swampers bias or radial?
How's the tires on the street?
Traction in rain and tread life?

Swampers are Radial, they are a little noisier than other tires but on a 35 yr old truck who cares?  It's like telling Godzilla he's getting a little fat.

Tread life is impressive considering the tire.   You can get up to 20k out of them but them but the down side is the last 5k they look bald even though they're not quite bald yet.   My truck is not my daily driver, I really only drive it around 3k a year.  Weekend and camping rig.

Seem to do fine in the rain.
