Interior colors with a Russet exterior
« on: March 25, 2015, 10:43:29 pm »
I'm looking for color combinations for trucks with a Russet exterior. My "87 Silverado is originally tan, and in rough condition on the outside, while the interior is clean. It had a dark brown dash, and have purchased a new dark brown dash. I'd like to go with a Russet/Tan two tone, and tan/Dark brown interior. Does anybody have this now, or have you seen this combo? Thanks.

I don't know of any 81-87 with a Russet color.  The only "browns" were Canyon Copper, Indian Bronze and Doeskin Tan

I was actually considering a brown or tan of some sort with a two tone for my 87 build as well. Interested in hearing other opinions on this. I'm going to look into the colors capt. Just suggested and see if I can find something close to one of those as I want my truck to be close to an original chevy paint option.

this is all I have right now, truck is 100 miles away at my hunting shack

i may have the factory code on the glovebox somewhere. I dunno, will look later, but there cant be too many redish browns avail in 82

hard to tell from the pic, but the dash is dark brown and the door panels are a lighter brown, almost tan.
if you look real close you can see the door panel on the passenger side.

I can get some close up pics of the inetrior later

I've researched it a little more, and talked a lot to my good friend, whose gonna do the painting on the truck. I'm going to keep it the original tannish cream color all the way around. One reason for this is I don't want to have to pull the cab apart. Plus, the interior is nearly perfect, at least the parts exposed. One thing I will be doing different is the interior. I'm keeping the dark brown dash, and recovering the bench seat in the same dark brown, along with the head liner. I'll start a new thread and post pictures of before and after.
