1984 Chevy K10 diesel swb value?
« on: February 21, 2015, 01:39:46 am »
Hey guys,

How much is a 1984 Chevy K10 diesel swb worth?

No rust, no carpet, no radio.
I think it's all original paint and decals.

Engine sounds good from a video the seller did.

No major issues, at least not any I was told.

A ball park price would be great.

Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for your time/opinion!

Cheers,
Kevin

i would get plenty of pictures like 20 if i was going to buy something that far away and have it shipped. Might find someone on here that lives close to the truck who can go look at it. how much is he asking?

Could be anywhere from $1500 to $8,000
Depending on condition

I'd fly down and look at it
Buy it if you like it
Put it Ina storage unit and arrange shipping

Just too many scams nowadays to do otherwise
Or find someone you trust to look at it and buy it for you and store it till you arrange shipping

How difficult is it going to be to get it across the border and thru customs ??

It won't be difficult, but it will be expensive, especially since our dollar is so low right now. Better be a good deal and the OP had really want the truck.  Getting it registered and insured would be difficult here in Alberta, where we approve everything lol. In ontario I can only imagine.

is this working for anyone?(its not working for me) if it is i would see if we have anyone near it to see if they would look at it and take pictures for a "second" unbiased opinion

Hey thanks guys!

The owner did send me a bunch of photos of the under carriage as well a mechanic told me to also ask for videos, I go sent 4 videos.
Mechanic says it thinks it's okay to buy.

I also have a choice of this one, that's in Alberta, Canada. He wants 7500 for the truck and  parts car (87 no transmission).

I also got a 2 videos from him, and a mechanic says it looks okay (but how can he be 100% sure eh?)

Is there any Canadians here? Will it be hard to find parts for the car? I Think engine parts aren't' that rare (correct me if I'm wrong).

Other wise, I'm also looking at a 1980 short box gas k10. But the seller want's $8000, says it's from Colorado with a rebuilt 350.

You can see it here----->  http://imgur.com/YLAfPKC

So I'm looking at 3 chevy's, and I'm notorious for being bad at making decisions. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks so much guys! Can't wait to own my first pickup. I'm giddy with excitement haha

Cheers,
Kevin

dont jump the gun and buy one without being certain about it. even living in the states i would only look at buying a truck if i can drive to see it (less than 8 hours). i did buy one one ebay years ago, seller sold it as a 75 k20 it was 8 hours away i loaded the truck up and didnt take time to verify the vin. after i got home i looked for the vin under the dash pad where i was told it was at (didnt know any better, but 73-77 it was on the door pillar). and i didnt find anything just a empty spot for a vin. i traveled 8 hours one way to get this truck spend a couple grand on it and now i might be out of everything. wont make that mistake again.
