throttle cable
« on: August 19, 2015, 05:03:59 am »
I'm in the beginning stage of putting a 5.3 L. ( LS ) engine that came out of a 2001 chevy Tahoe 4x4 I'm putting it in my 1980 GMC K10 4x4 truck and I'm not sure what to do about the throttle cable I think I have to use one from a Tahoe because of the throttle body but I'm  not sure if the end that hooks to my gas  pedal is the same or do I have to use a cable from lokar

I think hook img it to the gas pedal is pretty easy
Using a clamp or something

I am also looking at a LS swap.  But am concerned about the costs of relocating the AC compressor , seems that's going to be more then buying the LS engine

Use the throttle cable from the donor. You will have to rebend your pedal, and cut 2 tabs off but it will clip right in.  that is what is on my truck that I drive everyday.

I would not relocate the AC, I would modify the frame rail and use the factory location.  Otherwise I would use the factory compressor and a mount made for it
