tuff country dual shock mounts
« on: October 04, 2015, 03:55:48 pm »
What do you guys think about these? The make one for the rear too. Would it help the ride a lot? Can the mount on the axle handle the extra shock? I know the rear has the cracking issue  mine doesn't yet but I'm going to make some supports to help like was done on a post on here. Also I think I would make these brackets for the extra shocks just would have to figure  out where to get the bushing for the shocks or can I just use longer grade 8 bolts?

If you want a REALLY rough ride in the front of your truck.. Dual shocks will do it.

Dual shocks + ride like a coal cart on rails.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I bought the factory dual shock brackets that were used on the 1981+ model truck and ran them on my '77 K30. The ride wasn't bad at all. However, you must buy the shocks that are valved for the factory dual shock setup.

Using two shocks together that are valved to be ran as a single unit will result in a very stiff ride.
