Eastwood Company
« on: March 01, 2005, 10:14:00 pm »
Okay, This is what I would like to do, Im goin to get about three buddies to help me sand down the chassis rear end section for now till I can get the motor pulled, I was gonna use that chassis black set, have anyone tried it, and I saw that jeff on 73-87.com used Satin Black, I could do that to, but I was thinking that the chassis black would be better, Tell me yalls opinions of personal experiences.

Chassis black and satin black are pretty much the same...it comes down to personal preference and affordibility.  Most people who use Eastwoods Chassis Black are more than likely restoring their car back to the factory look.  Although I am not "restoring" my truck, I doubt anyone will ever tell me..."Hey, that isn't the correct color of black for the frame".  :)

I didn't purchase the paint.  I brought my frame to a local sandblasting company...they balsted, primed, and painted it for me.  I believe they used PPG, but the name of the color was never told to me.  Satin black is pretty much a universal color, you can pick it up pretty much anywhere.  If you are going to do your own, be sure to spray it on...don't rattle can it...it will never hold up.

I used PPG epoxy primer and Dupont equipment acrylic enamel on most frames I do. Even the ones I don't sand blast seem to hold up pretty well.
