I got the same issue but my 87 chevy dose it only on 2 wheel drive. On the front driver side. On 4x4 it drives good with no noise.

Check the rear of the front springs at the shackle, worn bushings can cause the spring to rub the frame just to rule that out. It makes a funky sound that can be misinterpreted.

Drop the driveshaft and try it

Sounds like a brake caliper moving around or maybe some axles had a shield on the axle shaft that supposed to keep dirt out of the tube  and they sometimes scrape against the tube
