3/4 Ton 4x4 Short(er) Bed Conversion?
« on: February 29, 2016, 12:56:57 pm »

I found a bed from an extended cab (a little longer than a true short bed) and I'm wondering if I can use it to shorten my K20 frame. I think the bed holes from the extended cab will mostly line up. See any issues? Thanks!

They are 18" shorter in front still a 6.5' bed.  All the standard holes will line up if you shorten the bed where the gas tank is.

So turns out that working by yourself can create barriers to bed removal. I had to rig a chain hoist from the roof rafters of the garage to raise and switch out the beds. Here it is for a test fit. It looks like I will need to remove about 17 inches from the frame.
