Hi im Billy a new member. I'm restoring my 1976 chevy K-10. I'm having a back feed problem with the power to my instrument cluster, the plug has 13volts to every contact on the plug with key out of ignition. I keep smoking my gauges. I have tried almost everything i know to do. can someone give me some insight on this. Thanks.

The plug has a ground on it so that one should not have power anytime.
A short to  the battery will give you batt voltage all the time along with the ground.

Depending on what's been done to the wiring prior.

Ignition switch problem maybe but when you say power to all on the plug including the ground says short or miss wired.

Do you have the correct cluster? Did it work before?

This site has the pin outs for the connector in the tech section. Start tracing wires 1 at a time.

Start with the ground and see where the powers coming from if in fact all pins on the connector have 12 v

:)Thanks got it i think. Rats chewed some of the wires that i missed. I had a wiring harness from another truck and so far everything is working. You were right 1 wire at a time. Thanks again. 8)
