What dually rims will fit?
« on: April 12, 2015, 10:40:13 pm »
What year/make dually rims will fit on 73-87 1 ton dually rotors? New to the dually rims with spacers, etc. Will 2000 1TON GMC dually rims safely fit? Are the centers bigger/smaller? Do certain year Ford/Chevy/dodge rims fit? Which ones don't? I've looked and searched and haven't found a definitive answer/list of interchangability. Do I need lug centric or hub centric rims? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have a definitive answer for you, I only know enough about dually rims to get me in trouble.

Here are a couple of links that may help... They're for aluminum wheels, but it should give you an idea of what the specs are and what works.

Alcoa wheel, this should be the correct specs for the dually rims for the 70's and 80's GM trucks.

This is Southwest wheel, they list the same aluminum wheel for '76 to 2000.  It seems that the lug nuts would be the difference, metric versus standard.

Here is another interesting link for GMC motorhome wheels that reference various years.

According the the motorhome link, '76-2000 C/K-30 (or 3500) dually, G-30 (dually vans) and P-30 (e.g., breadtrucks) should interchange.

Maybe someone has a Hollander book and can give you some more definitive interchange information.

Hopefully this should help some, keep us posted.

I happen to have two style of wheels that I plan to use on my trucks.

I have about 10 to 12 wheels that are all 8 on 6.5 dually offset but a few of them have about .250 to .375 difference in height.

Should they all be the same shapes and offset or height ?

What I have are the dome shaped and the truncated cone shapes.
